Americanism

     The lodge Americanism committeee has the responsibility of maintaing the lodge parade flag as well as educating the area youth about Americanism & Patriotism.

Flag The lodge has a 30'x40' Parade flag that is carried in area parades. We are always looking for volunteers to help carrying the flag.

  • Mt. Vernon Fall Fest Parade: Saturday, September 26th, 2026. Line up on Main Street by the Library by
  • Waltonville Veterans' Day Parade: TBA November 2026. Line up by Waltonville VFW
Americanism Essay Contest
  • The Elks Americanism contest is now open to all 5-8 graders. This year's topic is "Explain a Constitutional Right or Privilege and how it affects you and your family" and the state winner will advance to the Grand Lodge Contest.
    Lodge, District and State Winners receive cash prizes.
  • Deadline for essays to be at submitted to the lodge is: December 15th, 2026
  • New features in this year’s contest are:
        1) Four separate divisions for 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th grade students.
        2) Awards for Each Grade Level the Grand Lodge Competition:
            United States Flag $1,000 for 1st place
            United States Flag $500 for 2nd place
            United States Flag $250 for 3rd place
